Frequently Asked Questions

1. What distinguishes SOLESTAR insoles?

SOLESTAR insoles have a special, patented structure that guides the foot into the neutral position and stabilizes it in this position. In addition, SOLESTAR insoles have a load-stable core. From the forefoot to the hindfoot, this core supports the foot and ensures that the foot does not lose its stability and that the force is optimally transferred.

2. Where can I buy SOLESTAR?

You can find an overview of our SOLESTAR dealers in our dealer overview. In addition, SOLESTAR insoles can be purchased from our online store.

3. Why is the SOLESTAR insole not completely made of Black Fiber or Carbon?

The principle of SOLESTAR is to stabilize the foot in the optimal position. At the same time, SOLESTAR supports the muscular function of the foot. That's why SOLESTAR insoles consist of a stiff, load-stable core, made of Black Fiber or Carbon, which supports and stabilizes the foot from forefoot to hindfoot. In addition, flexible materials are used wherever the mobility of the foot must be ensured for optimal and pain-free movement. Moreover, pressure peaks are eliminated.

4. Aren't SOLESTAR insoles really only something for professional athletes?

SOLESTAR insoles are a development from performance and professional sports, as this is where the search for optimization potential is continuous. The pros are therefore typically the first to take notice of such innovations. Nevertheless, SOLESTAR shoe insoles are for any athlete who wants to perform their activity with more comfort, control and better power transmission. In addition, SOLESTAR insoles prevent the typical sports overuse complaints.

5. What is the difference between this and other insoles?

Other insoles usually do not have a solid core. Therefore, these insoles deform as soon as they are loaded. In certain sports, such as cycling, running, cross-country skiing and hiking, the foot must be stabilized, which is only possible with materials that are stable under load.

6. How long does it take to get used to the SOLESTAR insole?

The SOLESTAR insole for brings the foot into the optimal neutral position. The foot and the affected body structures such as muscles, tendons and ligaments usually need some time to adapt. It may take four to five training sessions for your body to fully adapt to the change.

7. How long can I use a SOLESTAR insole?

The lifespan depends on the usage pattern. An indication of wear is a reduction in the original stiffness. Your dealer can give you an exact assessment of whether your current SOLESTAR insole is still serviceable. In most cases, the time of use of the SOLESTAR insoles correlates with how long you use your sports shoe.

8. Do I have to remove the original insole from the shoe if I use SOLESTAR insoles?

Yes, this is absolutely necessary. The SOLESTAR insole replaces the original insole. If the original insole remains in the shoe, the SOLESTAR insole will not fit or will not be effective.

SOLESTAR insoles are developed in Germany. Manufacturing takes place in Germany and Asia.

15. I often have burning feet when cycling. Does the SOLESTAR insole for cycling shoes help against this?

The sensation of burning feet is often caused by compression in the area of the metatarsal heads, as nerves and blood vessels are compressed there. With SOLESTAR your foot position is corrected. For this reason, the saddle height often has to be increased by 2 - 5 mm. Therefore, please check your saddle height again before your first ride with SOLESTAR.

18. Is there a scientific basis for the principle of action of the SOLESTAR insole for cyclists?

The SOLESTAR insole for cycling shoes is the result of both the latest scientific findings and years of testing with riders of all performance levels. In July 2011, a study was published by the German Sport University Cologne, which showed that cyclists with SOLESTAR carbon insoles were able to achieve an average of 6.9% more power in sprinting.
